About Us VMF

Championing Mental Health Awareness, Empowering Families.

The Venetta Mwengella Foundation (VMF) is a leading not-for-profit organization committed to advocating for mental health awareness, breaking the stigma surrounding mental health issues, and empowering single parents to foster economic progress through small business capital. Headquartered in the United States, VMF has expanded its impact globally, with a prominent branch in Buea, Cameroon, and active outreach in several other African countries. We focus on providing critical support to single parents, enabling them to establish and sustain small businesses that uplift their families, ensure financial independence, and contribute to local economies. Through our programs, we aim to provide access to mental health resources, education, and community support to individuals struggling with mental health challenges while offering financial assistance and entrepreneurial guidance to single parents. This dual approach fosters not only the well-being of individuals but also strengthens families, enabling them to build a brighter future. At VMF, we believe that empowering individuals with the right resources and support leads to healthier, more resilient communities. Our foundation is built on the principles of compassion, innovation, and sustainability.VMF is working tirelessly to make a lasting impact in the lives of those who need it the most.

My name is Mukete Lionelle Losa and here is my testimony. There is nothing God can't do. It came a point in my life when I had lost everything and being a single mom I was very depressed. I had lost hope and confidence in myself bc of stress. As God will have it I met Venetta and my story changed. She saw a lady with vision and dreams but had lost hopes and confidence. Words aren't enough to say thank you to Venetta Muengella Foundation for bringing back my joy. As you can see from the pictures am rewriting my success story thanks to Venetta. She has encouraged and supervise every step I make in business. Thank you so much Venetta Foundation. The sky is my limit.

My name is Nwese Lucy and I am a widow with 9 children and grand children under my care based in the political capital of Cameroon - Yaounde. My husband was killed in the current anglophone crisis and my children and I were forced to migrate to Yaounde. Life has been really tough and I was so drepressed but thanks to Miss Venetta of the Venetta Mwengella Foundation, I have been able to set up my small business and this is helping me to survive with my children.

I am Bato Juliet and a single parent of 3 children ranging from 1 year to 19 years under her care based in Buea the south west region of Cameroon. I specialize in cooking a traditional meal called Ekwang; which is very much appreciated in this region. I prepare this meal and hawk from office to office selling. This has not been an easy task as I have to be up extra early and walk around the whole day just to sell and take care of my children. My dream was to open a small restaurant where people will come duringtheir breaks to enjoy their delicasy and I thank God that through Venetta Mwengella Foundation this dream has come to reality. I am so happy and thankful to VMF for putting a smile on our faces.

This is a single mother of 6 children who was displaced internally due to the crisis in the southwest region of Cameroon. Her husband later got involved in a hit and kill accident and was sentenced to life imprisonment. Caroline is left to fend for herself, her children, and her incarcerated husband. She states her kids have been out of school due to lack of school fees and she needs capital to start her buy am sell am business. She would like to sell plantains since she has done it before and is well vested with that line of trade.
